Ceremony Options

Interfaith

Especially if you come from different faiths or backgrounds you are probably carefully choosing the officiant who will be able to combine your beliefs and respect your separate cultures and heritage. I feel your ceremony should encourage bonding between your family and friends regardless of their differences. Your vows can create a feeling of warmth and inclusion that will bring your guests together in a celebration of your union.

Your ceremony can blend rituals of both of your faiths, be non-denominational or secular. Symbols reflective of your respective backgrounds can be included.

Jewish Wedding Ceremony

If one or both of you are of a Jewish background, I can create a ceremony that includes all of the beautiful symbols of a Jewish wedding. The unity candle, the sharing of wine, special Hebrew blessings and the breaking of the glass under the chuppah are all rituals that celebrate the traditions of Judaism.

Jewish Interfaith Weddings

If one of you is Jewish and the other is not, but you want a Jewish service, you may have had difficulty finding a rabbi to perform your wedding. There are few Jewish Clergy who recognize who you are rather than what you are. I feel it is my obligation to serve Jews and their partners by performing intermarriages which incorporating cultural traditions of both the couple’s backgrounds.

Dual Officiant Services

You may have decided that you would like to have two officiants who individually reflect your upbringing and faiths. I would be delighted to represent your Jewish heritage along with another member of the clergy representative of the other partner’s religion.

Same Gender Commitment Ceremonies

I believe that two people who care about one another and want to make a commitment to share their lives together deserve the opportunity to exchange the vows that celebrate their love. As your ordained wedding officiant, I would be honored to sanctify your relationship under God, and recognize the marriage of your spirits before your family and friends. I look forward to performing legal marriages for gay couples as soon as the law permits. Your personalized ceremony will be created to bring a sense of reverence and permanence to your union. You will receive a Universal Life Church certificate of commitment.

Premarital Counseling

Especially as you face the daunting pressures associated with marriage, communication skills, goal setting, problem solving techniques, integrating families and balancing mutuality and individuality are critical elements for success. As a counselor with 20 years of experience, I can offer either individual or couples counseling to help get your relationship off to a healthy start. Couples, family and individual counseling are also available on an ongoing basis.
